808 State are an music outfit formed in 1988 in Manchester, England taking their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of , they were formed by Graham Massey (from ex- band Biting Tongues), Martin Price and Gerald Simpson (later to record as A Guy Called Gerald). They released their debut Newbuild in 1988. 8-Ball

8-Ball is a four-piece rock band from Okinawa, Japan, formed in the late '90s and consists of lead singer Ray; Leon, drummer; Chris, bassist and Keiichi Sato the guitarist. The band are mainly known internationally by non-rock fans for its song (Need For) Speed which have been the theme tune for the drifting series D1 Grand Prix on the video magazine, Video Option; since the series inauguration, its other song Can't Carry On which is played at the closing stage of the coverage. As a result of the popularity of its two songs, the band were signed to the Avex Trax label.

As a boy, growing up in a small town, he did what all the kids his age did: go outside and play sports. His dad would always play rock classics and domestic music and subconsciously he thinks this turned him off from music for a long time. He had too much in too short of a time period. It was not until the age of 14 that he expressed interest in music. He really did not know what was out there. The first electronica track he's ever heard was an .S3M (back in the MOD days) by "Purple Motion". He eventually progressed onto Euro Dance, listening to Sash, Scooter, etc.

He's known from such projects as Allende, a98, Magic Dust and magnetic flux. BIOGRAPHY Anssi's first touch to electronic music was the Pet Shop Boys in the eighties. He is still a fan of their work, and they've probably been the biggest musical influence for him. Also artists like Jarre and Jan Hammer have definitely had an influence on what he is doing now with their 80's instrumental synthesizer tracks.
